Year 10 Retreat
A number of staff members and Year 10 students have just arrived back from a wonderful retreat experience at Savio, Bollington and Soli House, Alton. In just a couple of days, our students have had the opportunity to spend time together in a reflective and fun-filled environment. These days give the students some space to consider the important factors in their lives and take time to deepen their spiritual life and relationship with God. The days included enjoying our wonderful countryside, trying their nerve in a forest night-line, making the (all uphill) trek to White Nancy, and lots of group and individual challenges. Quiet times of prayer and reflection were enjoyed, as well as a lively celebration of Mass. Well done to all our students for their excellent behaviour and spirit over these few days, it was a great pleasure spending time with you all.
Letter from Mr Woods
In his recent letter to parents and carers Mr Woods took time to outline all the positive events that have happened over the past few months. We have had exams, prize night, transition events for Year 6, Sports Day, trips to the theatre, Liverpool Cathedral, Oxford University, Cheshire Show and Museums. This has been followed by retreats and taster days; next week we will have Bugsy Malone and end the year with a Whole School Mass.
St Nicholas will close for students at 12.30pm on Wednesday 20th July.
If you have missed the letter, you can read it here.
Sports Presentation Evening
On Monday 18th July 2022, we celebrate the return of Sports Presentation Evening. All students who have represented the school this academic year are invited to attend and will receive a certificate for their contributions to school sport. Furthermore, those who have represented the school in four or more sports will receive a badge for their efforts.

There will also be awards for achievement and effort in school sport along with a ‘High Performance’ presentation. The evening will finish with our guest speaker, professional footballer for Crewe Alexandra FC; Rio Adebisi.

Invitations will be sent to parents next week. There will be a two ticket limit per family.
Dorigatti and Pringle

Friday 15th July

In memory of two past students, Richard Dorigatti and Stephen Pringle who both died from cancer in the 1970’s, our Year 7, 8 & 9 students who completed 5 events on Sports Day will have the opportunity to play in a girls and boys football competition on Friday 15th July. There will be 32 teams of 5 players in each competition and we follow the World Cup format. The teams will be given a country and the students have the freedom to dress in their country’s colours and kits.

The students involved will be out of lessons ALL DAY on the school playing fields. The usual protection from the sun and adequate hydration is expected.

Each team can have a substitute however they will arrive in uniform and remain in school and will only be used if a player is injured.

We look forward to a fabulous day.
Mrs Simms

Ryman – Vouchers

For every £5 spent in-store at Ryman between 5th July and 11th September 2022 customers will receive a 50p Ryman voucher for schools.

It’s really simple. For every £5 spent in-store at Ryman between 5th July and 11th September 2022 customers will receive a 50p Ryman ‘Voucher for Teachers.’  The more vouchers collected, the more your teachers will have to spend.

At the beginning of the new school year, the vouchers should be taken to the school office. They can then spend the vouchers in any Ryman store to purchase essential stationery and supplies.
