Students at St Nicholas Catholic High School are expected to wear full school uniform at all times, maintaining high standards of dress around the school. Their smart attire is commented on by visitors and students wear their uniform proudly on external visits.
The uniform is comprised of teal blazer with the school crest and motto, black and gold tie, white shirt / blouse and dark trousers / skirt. Students are also expected to wear plain sturdy black shoes with no colour or flashes of colour, with appropriate socks or tights. Students may also wear a V-neck pullover under their blazer: this is to be plain knit in black with no logos.
Compulsory branded items from September 2026, are Blazer, Tie, Skirt and PE top. All other branded items are optional, please refer to the Uniform policy for the full list of branded and non-branded uniform
The PE kit comprises: navy and sky blue badged polo shirt (compulsory), navy and sky blue shorts/skort, navy blue football socks or white sports socks and appropriate footwear. The polo top is compulsory, all other PE items can be non branded. Depending on the activity, students should have indoor/hardcourt trainers appropriate for sport or studded boots. Please note, metal blades are not permitted in school sport.
For colder conditions, students may also choose to wear a plain, unbranded black or navy fleece or sweatshirt or layers underneath their PE top such as thermals or long-sleeved tops. Students also have the option of wearing the optional St Nicholas long-sleeved rugby shirt or a plain black fleece. Plain black or navy leggings are also permitted providing they are worn under the shorts/skort. Plain hats and gloves are also allowed.

The Green Uniform and Baby Bank in Winsford is a local charity collecting pre-loved, good condition used or unused uniform items to distribute within the community to those who need it.
