Lent in the Chapel
Over the past few weeks, students have been coming into the chapel for the Lenten Reconciliation Reflections. This term, the Gospel Value of Forgiveness and Mercy has been echoed in our liturgy. The parable of the Prodigal Son reminded us that we are never unwelcome in God’s presence and that God is always looking out for us to offer love and forgiveness.
Using the image of the desert, we, reflected using stones to symbolise the weight we carry when we know we have been hurt or harmed by another. We released the stones into the cleansing symbol of water and shared prayers and blessings for ourselves and each other. Students have found the opportunity for quiet refection invaluable, especially at the end of such a busy term.
Lent Charities
The activities for our Lent Charity are well underway.  If you are able to send a pound or two for raffles, tombolas, football challenges and so on, it would be very welcome.

Accessing the Foodbank

So that we may support our St Nicholas family we have registered as a referral organisation for the Foodbank.

Please do contact us if we can be of help. As always, our conversation and any information that we need to pass on to the Foodbank, will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Garden Allotment
Students in the ARC are starting to clear away and restart the garden allotment area.
So far year 8 and year 9 students have cleared away all the leaves and the old rotting beds.
Huge thanks to Tina Holt at Asda and Carla Seath at Morrisons for their generous donations towards starting up the project.  We still need more compost and  if you are able to contribute in any other way (maybe you have some spare tools, or containers, or you have already sewn your seeds and have some spare plants, or maybe your company could help to support us) please get in touch with Mrs Rose K.rose@st-nichoals.cheshire.sch.uk.

Knutsford Triathlon Club

Knutsford Tri Club (KTC) is a very friendly triathlon club that are hoping to develop a Youth section for 15 – 17 year olds. We have secured funding for a free 10 week trial aimed at giving a weekly coached track session alongside adult KTC members at Timperley Athletics Track on Thursday evenings 7pm-8pm from May – July 2022.

Part of the focus will be on the all-round young person and as well as the physical benefits associated with training. It will seek to contribute to a sense of independence and autonomy, an increased personal confidence as well as opportunities to lead, grow and develop ‘soft’ skills such as empathy and communication.
