Message from our Chaplain Mairie

Jesus at the Centre

Being a disciple means being constantly ready to bring the love of Jesus to others, and this can happen unexpectedly and in any place: on the street, during work, on a journey.

Pope Francis – Joy of the Gospel

Message from our Chaplain Mairie

Prayer for Students
Father of Light and Wisdom, thank you for giving our students a knowing mind and a loving heart.
Help them to keep learning every day — no matter what the subject may be –
and help them know how to find you and love you in all the things you have made.
Encourage them when the studies are difficult and when they are tempted by distractions.
Enlighten them when thoughts come slowly and help them to grasp all they need to know.
Bless them with concentration, calm and determination to persevere.
Grant them the grace to put their knowledge to use in building the kingdom of God on earth,
Acknowledging the dignity and value of all and protecting those in need.
Amen.

Author Event with Phil Earle

A group of Year 7 students had the opportunity to attend a live online talk by author Phil Earle this week in the library. Phil Earle is the author of When the Sky Falls, the book year 7s are currently reading in English lessons.

When the Sky Falls is set in WW2 and follows Joseph, a young boy who is charged with looking after Adonis, a Silverback Gorilla in a run-down city zoo. When the bombs begin to threaten the security of Adonis’s enclosure, it’s Joseph’s job to pull the trigger to prevent Adonis from rampaging the streets. But, after Joseph builds a relationship with Adonis, can he make the shot? Could you? These were questions that Phil Earle put to our Year 7s giving them food for thought for their next English lesson.

As the weather is getting warmer, please make sure students have water bottles and apply sunscreen in the morning, in preparation for their PE lessons.
On very sunny days hats/caps can be worn during PE.

If you have PE kits that your child has outgrown, please send them into school where we will make good use of them.
