STUDYING GEOGRAPHY AT ST NICHOLAS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS OF MY LIFE. THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL TAKEN BY TEACHERS, ESPECIALLY AT A LEVEL, MAKES STUDENTS FEEL ON TOP OF THEIR WORK. ALSO, THE LESSONS TAUGHT ARE ENGAGING AND MAKE YOU THINK CRITICALLY, ALLOWING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TRANSFERABLE SKILLS WHICH CAN BE USED OUTSIDE OF THE SUBJECT TOO. IF YOU FEEL OUT OF DEPTH OR DON’T UNDERSTAND A CONCEPT, MEMBERS OF STAFF ARE EASY TO APPROACH AND WILL ALWAYS TRY TO AID YOU TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITY.”

ST NICHOLAS EXTRA:

Fieldtrips – there is a minimum of 4 days of fieldwork required as part of Unit 4 (NEA). For this we travel to Barcelona in April of Y12 to investigate human and physical processes throughout the city. The skills you learn will then be applied to your own data collection for your independent investigation. Subject Enhancement Lectures – as we are members of the Geographical Association we are regularly invited to attend subject enhancement lectures at Manchester Metropolitan University
