In October 2015, the Student Council held their first training day. During this day they learnt about teamwork, leadership qualities, the roles in a meeting and how to be an effective team.
‘One of the activities we did was the human knot, we had to all hold hands and walk into the middle, then we each took a different pair of hands so we were all mixed up. We had to try and get back into a circle without breaking hands. At first we thought it was impossible, however, then we realised if we worked as a team, we could do it.’

‘We learnt how to be an effective team. We thought about what we wanted to achieve as a School Council, to be effective we needed to look at the issues that really mean something to us and the rest of the student community.’
