Macmillan Coffee Morning

This time of year is a favourite for our staff as some friendly competition in baking skills helps our fundraising efforts for the Macmillan charity. Some excellent bakes made break and lunchtime particularly enjoyable and many thanks to the staff for raising £202 for this great charity.
October Market Challenge
This month, St Nicholas take fundraising challenges to support CAFOD and the Foodbank. Up until half-term we will be raising funds to help people across the world ‘Go Green’ by supporting them in sustainable living. We will be having a collection for the Mid-Cheshire Foodbank who continue to support the local community in time of need. We are also asking for any warm, spare coats (adults or children) to donate to charities supporting the homeless and refugees. Please see the poster for details and thank you in advance for your support.

Open Evening

We had a very successful open evening last night.

It was a real pleasure to meet prospective students and parents and also great to see so many familiar faces.

Thank you to all our student ambassadors for showcasing everything that is good about St Nicholas.

Covid update
We are continuing to monitor confirmed student Covid cases on a daily basis and working closely with the local outbreak management team and Public Health England. Following a recent review, we have received guidance to continue with the additional temporary control measures introduced last week but will not be arranging mass onsite lateral flow testing for the time being. We strongly encourage all students to continue testing at home twice a week. We are currently waiting on a further delivery of home test kits so they will be distributed to students as soon as they arrive.  Please continue to register the results here Report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
A reminder to please not send your child into school if they are unwell and displaying any Covid symptoms.  If this is the case, arrangements should be made for them to access a PCR test as soon as possible and they should remain at home while awaiting the test result.  We will continue to isolate and send students home if we believe they have a symptom requiring a PCR test.  Students should also access a PCR test if they are a known close contact of someone who has Covid-19 but currently, they can still attend school while waiting for the results of a PCR test providing that they do not have any symptoms.  Testing can be arranged by calling 119 or via the NHS website: www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.
Please keep us informed of the result of the test.  Thank you for your continued support and please rest assured that we will continue to monitor the situation carefully and to be guided by the advice of our Local Public Health Team.

Mr Wallace
Timpson-tastic!
On Monday 27th September, Year 10 Business students were lucky to receive a talk from Janet Leighton of Timpsons who has the fantastic job title of “Director of Happiness!”
Students listened to the story of Timpsons, their belief in employing ex-offenders and their concept of upside-down management before getting the chance to ask their own questions. It was a real insight in to a very different type of business. Many thanks Janet!
