Visit to St Anthony’s Wythenshawe for Blessed Carlo Acutis
On Monday, a group of St Nicholas students joined with over 400 students from other schools to celebrate the visit of the Relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis. We were able to venerate the relic, spend some time in Adoration, and join in the celebration of Mass. Carlo was born in London on 1991 and lived as an ordinary teenager  apart from the strength of his faith and devotion. Sadly, Carlo died on Oct. 12, 2006, and was buried in Assisi, in Italy. His body lies in repose in a glass tomb in Assisi where he can be seen in jeans and a pair of Nike trainers and holding his rosary.  It is hoped that Carlo will be made a saint later this year and will be the patron of young people and the internet. It was a memorable and meaningful day.
Mass to celebrate the new school year
It was lovely to celebrate our return to the new school year by welcoming Fr Paul from St John Vianney and Fr James, from St Luke’s, to celebrate Mass for all of us. It was a lovely atmosphere to have us all together to share our prayers and hopes for the year ahead. One of our Year 7 students commented that it was lovely to spend time with God and it certainly was.
Thank you to all our readers, choir members and musicians and everyone who worked to make the day such a success. We are very lucky to have such gifted students and staff.

Open Evening

It was wonderful to see so many families and future students at our Open Evening.

The engagement, joy and interest we observed as students were walking round was great to see. A huge thank you to all our brilliant school ambassadors who proudly showed our school at its very best.

If you came to the evening and would like to fill in the postcard, please use this link https://forms.office.com/e/D9uaEyAbwH

Year 7 Welcome Mass

We look forward welcoming all our Year 7s and their families to our Year 7 Welcome Mass 2nd October 5.30pm, where we will be celebrating their brilliant start to their high school life.

There will also be music from our talented musicians singers.

JCB – A level Business, Economics and Computing trip

On Thursday 19th September a group of 21 A level students visited the JCB Headquarters in Uttoxeter. We took part in a factory tour and completed ‘The story of JCB’ demonstrating how determination, an enquiring mind and valuing your customers can create global success. We were able to witness ‘Operations management’ in action, with concepts such as JIT and Lean production demonstrated on the factory floor where the famous Backhoe Loaders were being built as well as view the computer systems used to manage such production. As always, our students were excellent ambassadors for our school, and it was a joy to take them.
