We lift up all Year 11 and Year 13 students to You during this exam season.
Grant them calm hearts and clear minds as they prepare and sit their exams.
Fill them with confidence in the knowledge they have gained,
and help them to recall it with clarity and peace.

and their peace in moments of stress or anxiety.
Remind them that their worth is not defined by grades,
but by who they are in Your eyes — loved, capable, and full of promise.
May they feel encouraged and surrounded by care.
Whatever the outcome, may these students grow in wisdom,

National Poetry Competition
Year 9 Student Shortlisted for National Poetry Competition
We are delighted to celebrate Chloe Smith in Year 9, who has been shortlisted for the National Literacy Trust’s prestigious Young Poet Laureate competition for her powerful poem ‘You don’t see me.’
Chloe’s work was selected from over 1000 entries, earning her a place at a regional masterclass held at Manchester Central Library. On Monday 20th April, Chloe attended the masterclass accompanied by Mrs Davenport, and Ms Roberts. During the day, she worked alongside professional poets to refine her performance skills and develop her voice as a writer.
As part of the experience, Chloe performed her poem to a panel of judges and spoke thoughtfully about her ambition to take on the role of Young Poet Laureate within her community. Chloe was encouraged to submit her work by Mrs Davenport, her English teacher.
Her poem will now be judged by the UK’s National Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage.
This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Chloe’s creativity, confidence and commitment to her writing.

Yes, you are looking at me,
But you don’t see me,
NO! you see the child you left behind,
The child who was left confused,
Questioning why?
Sometimes I wonder if you think about the house,
The house you left,
The home which is now filled with:
Love, laughter and life!
A home now filled with peace.
You give me a hug,
But it feels like holding onto a stranger.
Tense, awkward, unknown.
Like puzzle pieces in a box,
That will never fit together.
There is still part of me waiting,
Waiting for a text or a call,
But all I’m left with silence,
Until I visit the house that is no home,
The building that is not built of love.
The empty starts to get filled,
But it’s still not you.
It is never you, but my people,
The people who helped me through the dark,
Through the pain, through the struggles.
These people are the ones that stepped up,
We may not share the same blood.
But we are family.
They have done much more for me than you ever will,
Like a pack of wolves, we help protect each other.
I never needed you!
I realise that now,
But I did want you.

Ethan Coot – carting championship
Ethan Coot delivered a strong performance in his second Club100 North race at Whilton Mill.
Out of 46 drivers—most with more experience—he qualified 6th and made it into the A final. Although incidents dropped him to 11th in the final, he still finished as the top rookie by a clear margin, with only one other rookie reaching the A final.
A very promising result that shows both pace and rapid progress early in the season.
Football success
Congratulations to Aiden Hopley, Charlie Yarwood, Bryan Hewak and George Reynolds who won their league two division at the weekend in a back to back promotion for the second year running with Middlewich Town Football Club.
Football success
Alice, one of two goalkeepers on the day, took to the pitch after half time, Cheshire 3-1 up to finish a 4-1 Win. Alice keeping a clean sheet whilst dominating her box with some quality saves and play.
Cricket success
Congratulations to year 9 student, Freya Walker, who has been selected for the Girls Under 14’s Cheshire Cricket County team.
After a successful season last year, Freya has continued to work incredibly hard on the player pathway over the winter to achieve her selection again.

This is a free event organised by Hartford NSPCC and supported by Hartford Parish Council.
Art club for 10 to 16 year olds
Get creative and make new friends at this art club for 10 to 16 year olds. It takes place on selected Tuesdays from 4pm to 5pm, at Hartford Village Hall.

Join this basic first aid awareness course for free on 13 June from 11.15am – 1.15pm Taking place at Hartford Village Hall on Chester Road, the course will be hosted by Hartford Parish Council and delivered by the British Red Cross.
