A prayer to share

Prayer for Red Wednesday

Today we pray for all those around the world
who are working hard to spread God’s love.

We pray for strength and courage for all people
working and praying to do good, Lord.

We remember those who are working in your Name
in countries
where it is dangerous to be a Christian
– we pray for your
protection over all children, men and women
in the many places where
they face danger
just for believing in you, Jesus.

Jesus, help us to build your kingdom.

Amen

Message from our Chaplain Mairie

Amazing fundraising
We are pleased to confirm that Our Staff Bake Off for Macmillan’s Cancer Charity raised £100 last month.
Also, that the CAFOD Harvest collection amounted to a wonderful £500. Thank you for all your support for these charities as well as the support for the Shoeboxes last week.
In Advent we start our hamper collection for the Foodbank and local parishes and I will send information about this next week.
The Shrewsbury Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2025
The Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes is organised by the Youth Mission Team and is open to young people aged 16 or above. We hope to get the team into school to present an assembly – see picture with dates and details.
This is a very worthwhile event to get involved in for our young people.

Sporting Success – Emily Cole

We are so proud of Emily Cole who made her debut this week for Everton’s First Team, playing Man Utd in the League Cup. Emily got onto the pitch for the final 15 mins and did herself and the school proud.
An amazing achievement for her and a testament to all of the hard work she puts in on a daily basis.

Business Trip to Manchester City

This week Year 11 Business students went to the Etihad Stadium to learn about how football clubs are run as a business. It was fascinating to hear about the scale of the operation and the commercial side of football. We even managed a picture with Pep!
It was a really good day and the students asked interesting questions and were great ambassadors for the school.

Cheshire School’s Book Quiz

Our reading savants have been chosen and are ready to take on teams across Cheshire to battle it out to be the Cheshire School’s Book Quiz Champions.

Our amazing team completed the first round today which comprised of questions about Phil Earle’s Northern Soul (which they all thoroughly enjoyed reading), and general questions which can be based on any children’s/teen book. Amazingly, they scored a perfect 20 out of 20 which puts us in a fantastic position for the next four rounds.

(Left to right: Daisy Warren, Emma Parkhill, Holly Marshall, Chloe Smith and Rita Hall)

These are the books our quizzers will be reading for anyone who fancies reading along with them:
