Year 7 Retreat Day
We are looking forward to spending time with Year 7 on their retreat day next Tuesday. We do regret that we won’t be able to celebrate our usual family Mass but will be putting together a short video for families to access from home.
Challenge 21
Just before the end of last term, we challenged our students to try to do something 21 times. It could have been anything at all – 21 star jumps, cycle 21 miles, walk 21 metres. We are delighted to report that some students also sponsored themselves for the challenge and we have raised an amazing £457. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and to those who raised the sponsorship. It was certainly a challenging end to the school year so well done for taking to opportunity to add to our PTFA Funds.
Open Evening

We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to St Nicholas during our forthcoming Open Evening on 7th October.
Bookings are now available – please click here

Further details to follow next week.

Food Allergies

Our Canteen has a varied menu and caters for all students.

It is therefore vital that we have the most up-to-date knowledge of your child’s allergies.
We also need to stress the importance of not sharing food or buying food for fellow students as this could lead to students inadvertently eating foods they are allergic to.

Please email s.kazmierczak@st-nicholas.cheshire.sch.uk with any allergy information.

Parent Governor Vacancy

St Nicholas currently has a Parent Governor vacancy.

No special qualifications are needed and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the governing body’s work. Training is available for all governors.

If you would like to stand for election please complete the enclosed nomination form and return it to the school no later than 3pm on Friday 15th October 2021.

PE kits

We have many students losing their PE kits.
If left in a classroom the PE kit will stay there for 48 hours after which it will be taken to the Student Support Office. If the kit has a name in it we will try to find its owner.

It is therefore imperative that all kit is labelled – this includes shoes, tops and the bag itself.

Please also label water bottles.

Music News

It has been fantastic to hear live music-making with mixed year groups in school. It`s not too late to join an ensemble!! Please ask Mrs McKenna or Mr Rushworth if you are unsure about rehearsals.

Instrumental lessons are also back up and running and we have some lesson slots available, particularly for brass instruments and flute. Please email Mrs McKenna for more details for these or any other instrumental lessons. h.mckenna@st-nicholas.cheshire.sch.uk

The Chamber Choir have begun rehearsing Christmas songs already for their concert on December 10th, at Tatton with the Northern Chamber Orchestra. Tickets are selling like hot cakes so visit the orchestra’s website if you would like to attend this concert. https://www.ncorch.co.uk/
