Message from our Chaplain Mairie
On 22nd May, during Sacred Space, we commemorated the eighth anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack. We continue to hold all those affected by the attack in our prayers with the Manchester lantern being lit in the chapel. We pray for a world where violence and anger has been met by peace and compassion.As you begin your study leave, remember that consistency is key. Create a realistic study timetable, stick to it, and make time for regular breaks. You’ve got this!
Even though you’re off-site, your teachers are still here to support you. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help with tricky topics, past papers, or feedback.
Study leave is a chance to revise in the way that works best for you. Use school resources like online portals, revision guides, and past exam papers.
Healthy body = healthy brain. Get plenty of sleep, eat well, and include some exercise in your routine. Don’t let stress take over—ask for help if you need it.
Be ready the night before. Arrive early and stay calm.
We are incredibly proud of all the hard work you’ve put in. Keep pushing through—success is within reach. We believe in you! We will be praying for you to be calm and confident during your exams and to have the very best opportunities in your future journey.

Bikes in school
It is great to see students arriving to school on their bikes.
After a recent bike theft we remind students to put the bikes safely locked up in the bike sheds and not along the fence outside.
A Level Chemistry Work Experience at Tata Chemicals
Two of our A level Chemistry students recently took part in a two day work experience placement at the TaTa Chemicals plant in Winnington. Activities included setting up a small project, going on site tours and being introduced to various people in the business with a view to inspire them. Finn Scott and Matthew Hitchen both really enjoyed and valued the experience.
“The opportunity of going to Tata Chemicals for work experience was brilliant as we went on tours around both the bicarb plant and the CHP plant, which was fantastic as you really don’t see the whole use of the land from the road. We were set a project on how Tata can achieve Net Zero, and we presented our ideas to an engineer. We also had talks with engineers and business managers.” Matthew Hitchen
Sporting Success
Year 11s braving the shave for Cancer Research
Three year 11 students, Lucian Wehbe-Malkin, Matthew Ross and Max Allum are fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
They are recognised for their glorious heads of hair/mullets and will be braving the shave to raise money for this great charity after their GCSE exams are completed in June.

Free School Meals Eligibility
Your child may be entitled to receive free school meals if you are entitled to receive one of the following:

• The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

It is really important that you complete the on-line form to ensure your child is recorded as eligible for Free School Meals and to help make sure that the school is funded.
If you cannot apply on-line, you can telephone Free School Meals on 0300 123 7039, but this is only if you do not have access to the internet.

If your child is leaving school or has outgrown their uniform or PE kit, please send it in to school where we will reuse it for students who need it or pass it on to the Green Uniform and Babybank. This can also be sent in after the exams have finished.
