Exam Prayers

Over the next few weeks our Year 10 and Year 12 students will be sitting their exams. Please do remember them in your prayers at this time. They have all worked hard over this past year and should be very proud of all they have achieved.

Lord, let our students know that you are their friend and you are with them always.
You have blessed their lives with many gifts and talents.
Bring your peace to calm their anxieties.
Calm their mind so that they can think clearly.
Help them to remember what they have learned and to do their best.
Lord let your loving presence surround them.
Help them to trust that you will guide them.
Amen
 Challenge 21 project

You will all know that St Nicholas’ PTFA have always been a wonderful supporter of the school. Their fundraising efforts across the years have provided the students with many additional resources to enhance their learning and to make the school environment welcoming and accessible.
For the last few weeks of the school year, they are launching Challenge 21, as both a wellbeing project and an opportunity to raise funds. The idea is to attempt a challenge 21 times, over 21 days starting from 21st June. This could be anything from learning 21 phrases in another language to running for 21 minutes a day. If possible, we would also like the students to get sponsorship for their challenge to help boost the funds for the PTFA.
Details have been sent out to students via their email and the Challenge will be promoted in school. Please do encourage your child to take part. Comments, photos and reports can be emailed to Challenge21@st-nicholas.cheshire.sch.uk.
Water Bottles

It is important that all students bring a water bottle to school every day, especially during the summer months.

Bottled water is available from the canteen and water bottles can be refilled during the day.

Students are reminded to refill their bottles at break and lunchtime so that there is no detriment to learning time.

Boys’ and Girls’ After School Sports

Rising Rugby Star
This week, Ben received an email from Sale Sharks formally inviting him to join the U16 Sale Sharks Academy, with his pre-season training starting in July, where he will train twice a week at the Sale Training Facility in Carrington. The training will consist of rugby skills and gym work and he will train for 6 hours per week at Carrington. He also has a gym program set by Sale for him to work on at home, and monthly Psychology and Nutritional advice.
Ben will be training up a year proving that all the hard  work he completed during lockdown to improve his fitness and strength, (working out in a makeshift garage gym every day, and running 5K at least 3 times a week) has certainly paid off.
Well done Ben, so deserved and we at St Nicholas wish you well in the U16 Academy.
Rowing success

On Sunday 6th June, 6 members of Year 9, who row for Northwich Rowing Club, competed in a series of friendly races against The Grange School.
They were thoroughly professional and super supportive of teammates and showed true sportsmanship to the opposition who they beat in 10 out of 12 races!!
Well done to Rhian Dobson, Elle Hankin, Izzy Garlick, Rachael Middlebrook, and Emily and Ollie Neale.

Swimming achievement

Paul Bickerton 9R achieved 1 mile in distance, swimming breastroke, at Macclesfield Leisure Centre on Tuesday evening and then continued swimming to achieve 2000m, making a total of 80 lengths in just over an hour.
Well done Paul!
