Sacred Space Ambassadors
To support the faith and charitable life of the school, we have appointed Sacred Space Ambassadors across the school. They took part in the Student Leadership Training Day with the rest of the Student Leadership Team and have been presented with cross badges. We look forward to seeing this role develop over the year.  Click here for pictures on our Twitter page
October Market Challenge
We are already nearing the end of the St Nicholas fundraising challenges to support CAFOD and the Foodbank. Up until half-term we will be raising funds to help people across the world ‘Go Green’ by supporting them in sustainable living.
We have had some great donations for the Mid-Cheshire Foodbank who continue to support the local community in time of need. We have also had generous donations of warm, spare coats (adults or children) to donate to charities supporting the homeless and refugees.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Sixth Form Open Evening

Thank you to everyone who visited St Nicholas Sixth Form last night.

There was a real buzz around the place and it was great to show what St Nicholas has to offer after Year 11.

Covid-19 Vaccinations

As per the vaccination letter sent via ParentPay on Tuesday, Covid Vaccinations will take place in school on Monday 1st November and Tuesday 2nd November.

This will be run by the School Aged Immunisation Service and are for children aged 12 to 15 years.

Parental and Carer consent will be required for students to receive their vaccinations on site. The link for the E-consent form can be found here and is needed by 12 noon Wednesday 20th October.

The school code is CP111450

1st November
Due to a printing error the Student Planner says that there is an INSET day on the 1st November. This is not the case, and all students are required in school. Students have been informed of this through their Pastoral Focus PPT this week.
Lost Property

On Thursday and Friday during break and lunch we will be displaying all lost property in the hall. This includes lost property from previous years.

Please encourage your child to go along and have a look.

Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

Please can we ask that parents put names in coats, PE kits, bags and shoes. Named items are returned to students on a daily basis.

School photographs

Students have been handed their school photograph order earlier this week.
Should you wish to place an order, please note that the deadline is Tuesday 19/10/2021.
Online orders are preferred.

Hello Yellow
On Friday students and staff celebrated Hello Yellow with Young Minds charity.
During tutor time students watched a PowerPoint for ideas for improving mental health and what good mental is.
“It’s ok to not be ok”
Staff prepared bunting explaining how they ‘reset’ when they recognise they are feeling low, suggestions included “going for a walk, going for a bike ride, feeding Koi carp, baking, chatting with friends and family, …. And lots more!
Students had an opportunity to create their own bunting and ideas. We had over 80 ideas.
Students were encouraged to send positive postcards to friends and peers. They will be delivered by our mental health ambassadors.
Students took part in a positive challenge and these will be entered into a prize draw.  Winner to be announced next week!
We had emoji decorating on biscuits, this went down very well!
There were opportunities to do some mindful colouring and information on how to register with Kooth, a free confidential online counselling service available to all pupils.
We hope to run another day in the future.
Thank you to the PTA for the yellow balloons and the prize for the challenge.
