A Message from our Chaplain, Mairie
Fasting means giving something up. For some people it may be sweets, social media, or another daily habit. The goal isn’t just self-discipline—it’s creating space to reflect and focus on what truly matters. This is something personal as everyone can relate to something they would rather not do without.
Prayer is about building a stronger relationship with God. During Lent, people often spend more time praying, reading scripture, or quietly reflecting. Even a few minutes of intentional reflection each day can help someone pause in the middle of a busy life. We will have services in the chapel for each form during the rest of the term and come together for our Mass to celebrate the end of term in our last week.
Giving means showing generosity and kindness to others. This might include donating to charity, volunteering, or simply helping someone who needs support. In school, we have our Lent challenge and, already, some of our forms are planning events, bake sales, raffles etc to support the work of CARITAS Shrewsbury and CAFOD.
Music Success
Cheshire West Young Musician of the Year
Three of our students took part in the Love Music Trust Cheshire West Young Musician of the Year competition, held on Saturday 7th March at St John’s Church Centre in Hartford. The event welcomed talented young musicians from schools across Cheshire West to perform in a range of instrumental and vocal categories.
We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our students. Sai Ganguri (Year 8) gave an excellent performance in the KS3 class, representing the school with great confidence. Emily Saji achieved Second Place in the KS4 Vocal Class, while Rafael Wong was awarded Second Place in the KS4 Instrumental Class.
Congratulations to all three students for their dedication, musical talent, and for representing the school so proudly.
World Book Day
Well done to all the staff who took part in World Book Day!
Everyone looked amazing in their costumes and really got into the spirit of the day. It was great fun seeing all the different characters come to life.
Students had great fun trying to work out who the different characters were! It made the day even more exciting and interactive.
Thank you to everyone who made the effort and helped make the day so enjoyable!

Mrs Davenport and Miss Else are absolutely delighted with the success of writing club. We have a number of competition winners and keen writers who bring their personalised writing journals each week. We are very proud of all of our members and we are grateful for the support of our sixth form writing club leaders who have lots of creative ideas!

Last week Annabel Hunter signed a 2 year contract for Everton Under 21’s which is amazing for a 15 year old. She has worked so hard and puts in so many hours each week after school, it’s a real achievement for her. Well done
