Following a fantastic world premiere performance by the University of Birmingham Upper Voices Choir and Mariana Rosas (Conductor of London Symphony Chorus and National Youth Choir 9-15), Will has been partnered with Duckworth Publications to publish ‘Ave Maria Stella’.

Halle Youth Orchestra – Rafael Wong

Congratulations to Rafael Wong who, after a successful audition in the summer, performed with the Halle Youth Orchestra on Sunday 7th December.

Mrs Smalley, Mrs Leigh and Mrs McKenna went to hear the performance and alongside Rafaels mum and dad were super proud of this amazing achievement.

Carting

Ethan Coot in Year 8 hasrecently successfully competed at Three Sisters race Circuit. Ethan came in first place after two heat races and a final race. In two of the races starting in last position and finishing in first place, so a huge achievement resulting from Ethan performing exceptionally well in his race.

Football

Freya Hunt and Seren Thompson represented Cheshire schools last week in the Northern Cup. They both played up a year and came away with a win which means that they are through to the semi finals.

Young Entrepreneur featured in Cheshire Life Magazine

Year 10 student Bella Fox has featured in Cheshire life Magazine highlighting her business FUR ANGELS by Bella.

INVENTIVE BELLA

When eight-year-old Bella Fox lost her pet hamster, Fang, a family friend who is a carpenter made a tiny wooden coffin so she could bury him.
‘I was heart-broken but it brought me so much comfort; it felt peaceful, as if he had a special place to rest,’ she says.

Five years on, the student at St Nicholas High School, Northwich, has started her own business, FUR ANGELS by Bella, developing a patent-protected, no-tools-required flat-pack coffin design in a range of sizes.

‘I wanted to make something young pet-lovers could feel part of,’ says 13-year-old Bella, who lives in Moulton. ‘Assembling and decorating it and writing a little letter to include helps them process their feelings and say goodbye in their own way.’

Winter Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) 

The HAF Programme is funded nationally by the Department for Education to support local organisations to provide free activities for children and young people who are eligible for Benefits Related Free School Meals (BRFSM) during the holidays. These activities are designed to promote wellbeing, create lasting memories, and include access to healthy meals. Provision is also available for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who meet the eligibility criteria.

Seasonal Illnesses

As you will be aware, it is that time of year where we find ourselves in the midst of seasonal illness. It would be much appreciated if you could share the information below with your schools so that as many as possible are aware of the resources available to mitigate illness absence.

As we move further into the term, we want to remind all settings of the key guidance available to help manage seasonal illnesses and keep pupils and staff well.
