A prayer to share

Loving God,
As we begin this Advent Term,
we thank You for the gift of education,
for our school community,
and for the opportunity to grow in knowledge, faith, and friendship.
Help us to enter this new term with open hearts and minds.
May we be guided by You in all we do
—learning with curiosity, serving with compassion, and living with integrity.
As Advent draws us closer to the celebration of Christ’s birth,
may we prepare our lessons and our hearts.
Teach us to be patient, hopeful, and kind, especially when challenges arise.
Bless our teachers, staff, and families.
Amen

A Message from our Chaplain, Mairie

Remembrance  – November is very much a time of remembrance. In the Church, we celebrate the feasts of All Hallows, All Souls, and All Saints—reminding us that we are part of a great community of faith. Hallowe’en actually has its roots in these sacred traditions. To learn more, and to hear me singing, please watch this video: https://youtu.be/fr3GcqX_QgQ
Poppy Art Challenge – As part of our Remembrance Day traditions, we’ve had beautiful displays of poppies in previous years. This half-term, why not spend a creative afternoon making a poppy or two to add to our Remembrance Field?
Here’s a link showing how to make poppies using the base of a soft drinks bottle—an eco-friendly way to recycle while crafting. Of course, you’re welcome to use your own ideas too!
We’ll provide the sticks, so we just need the poppy heads. Please do have a go and bring your creations into school during the first week back. Thank you!

Shoebox Appeal – Love in a Box

This year, our school is proud to be supporting the Teams4U Shoebox Appeal, which helps bring joy to children around the world who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.
We would love your support with this wonderful initiative. If you are able to, please consider sending in a filled shoebox or even a small item from the following list:
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Hair accessories or brush
Soap and face cloth
Stationery and paper
Gloves
Hat and scarf
New socks or underwear
A soft toy, game, or puzzle
A small musical instrument
Toy vehicle
Small ball
Sweets (with a use-by date from June 2026 onwards)
Shoe Box Appeal
Empty shoeboxes would also be greatly appreciated, as these can be decorated and filled by our students in school. You can also fill a shoebox with items that might be useful around a home.
We understand that times are challenging for many families, so please only contribute if you feel able to do so, as every small donation helps and will make a difference to a child’s Christmas.
The deadline for receiving items in school is Monday 10th November, so if items could be sent in before this date, that would be greatly appreciated. Our student ambassadors have made this video to promote the project.
Winter clothing
I’m sure, now that the days are getting colder, that many people are starting to look through their wardrobes for winter wear. If you have anything outgrown or not needed, but still in good condition, we can collect in school and donate on to the Green Uniform and Baby Bank in Winsford.  We can also recommend the Green Uniform and Baby Bank if you are looking for winter clothing or a uniform boost.

Anti-Bullying week

Next week is Anti Bullying week.

Show your support and come to school wearing Odd Socks
