Gambia Link School

Gambia Link School

On one of our citizenship days in school, we learned about our school link with Gambia. Gambia is a small country in Western Africa with a population of around 2 million people. As a form, we each wrote a letter to another student in the Gambian school, which was called the Jambur Basic Cycle School. Some of the things that we wrote about were our interests and other aspects of our lives, and we also asked them what their lifestyle was like, as our teacher explained that they have very different lifestyles to our own. We did watch a short clip about their lives and compared our lifestyle to theirs. We saw a huge difference in the materials used to build houses, such as we mainly use bricks and cement and they tend to use wood.

We are still looking forward to the replies from their school so that we can learn more about their differing culture.
